INTRODUCTION:
The chosen service is electrical, specifically the Authorized Service Provider (ASP) High Voltage chamber substation that is to be located on site. The characteristics of this service is to cater for three 11000 Volt incoming power supplies to then pass through transformers and associated switchgear to then become 415 Volt power supplies for distribution within the buildings for use by consumers.
These 415 Volt supplies are then reticulated through low voltage switchboards that then feed power to all the mechanical air conditioning systems, general purpose power outlets, lighting and any other equipment or service that requires power to operate.

BRIEF PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The project is called The Sandstones Precinct and involves the conversion of a state significant heritage listed building, known as the Department of Education into a six-star hotel. Built in 1912, The Department of Education Building once complete will be 3 basement levels and 7 stories’ in height and home 192 luxury guest rooms as well as supplying 415 volt power and hot/chilled water to the adjacent Department of Lands Building via underground tunnel and trench.

CURRENT SITE PROGRESS AND PROGRAMME:
The site has recently completed the demolition and excavation stage and has now commenced the main structure and base build stage of works. Due to temporary bracing and supporting system requirements the substation area of the building based on current programme will be commencing in 4 weeks. All Substation ASP, structural and architectural drawings have been finalized and are ‘For Construction’ ready for the main structure to raise and base build to commence.
