Highlights
Students are required to write a 4,500 review essay, working to the following two-part brief:
Firstly, essays must provide a brief introductory review of THREE of the progressive criminological perspectives studied on the module (listed below); and then secondly, essays must outline the ways in which ONE of these chosen perspectives can be applied to a contemporary event/phenomenon to help better understand it.
You should draw on the readings discussed in each session as a starting point, but you should also be bringing in your own readings too. This is essential if you are to achieve anything higher than an average mark.
Perspectives Include:
Psychosocial criminology
Green criminology
Queer criminology
Southern criminology
Border criminology
Narrative criminology
Popular criminology
Social Harm perspectives
