The Problem
We are going to model, design and implement a keyword search system over IMDB XML document. The system contains various components: (a) the choose source page that reads and parses the IMDB XML document, (b) the movie database search page that accepts some keywords for searching movies by their title, and (c) the data visualization part that presents the most correlated keywords and their related correlation score to the original keyword using various charts.
The choose source page contains the following UI controls: (a) a button to choose the source XML file, (b) a button for loading the XML data into the text area, and (c) the text area to display the content of the XML file after the load button is clicked. You need to add event handling code for the 2 buttons: (a) the choose source file to open the file dialogue, choose the XML file, and (b) the load button to parse the XML data and to display the content of the source file into the text area. The movie database search page should also contain a label and a text field to enter the keyword for searching the corresponding movies over IMDB database. A button is needed to do the search. Finally, the results of the search should be displayed in a text area. You need to add event handling code for the button. When the button is clicked, the search results for the submitted keyword query should be extracted and displayed in the text area.
The data visualization part that contains 4 radio buttons for the following options: (a) the Top-3 correlated keywords, (b) the Top-5 correlated keywords, (c) the Top-8 correlated keywords, and (d) the Top-10 correlated keywords to the original keyword. Then, it contains the buttons for drawing bar and pie charts. Buttons are added at the bottom of the window as follows: (a) Bar Chart, and (b) Pie Chart. When clicking the Bar chart button, the bar chart should show the top co-occurring keywords (the keywords that appeared with the submitted keyword in the movie) and their frequency score with respect to the keyword over IMDB database (You need to compute and store the frequency of all keywords in the IMDB database in an index such as Hash Table). Moreover, when clicking Pie Chart, the pie chart should show each top co-occurring keyword based on its frequency portion over the IMDB database. You are free to choose the keywords frequency or other measures such as tf-idf for computing the top co-occurring keywords.
