Project 1
You are a builder and your company is building the following projects:
A block of 4 offices with the following structure:
1- Concrete slab
2- Reinforced masonry external walls. The side and rear walls are on the boundary abutting other structures and the front wall is to be coated with acrylic coating texture finish
3- Internal walls to be fire-rated plasterboard on a lightweight steel frame
4- Roof structure to be timber truss roof with long-run metal sheeting
5- There is to be a toilet block to be shared by the 4 offices.
6- Each office will have its own ducted air-conditioning system
7- A stand-alone tourist center with the following structure;
8- Timber floor system on steel posts
9- Pole frame to the front half of building
10-Timber frame with corrugated colourbond metal cladding on the back half of the building.
11- Between the poles, at the front, there will be a combination of windows and fiber cement cladding
12- The roof system will be timber trusses with corrugated colourbond metal cladding
A block of 5 factories with the following structure:
1- Concrete slab
2- Steel Portal frame with Tilt-slab external walls and dividing walls. The rear and one side wall are on the boundaries and abut other buildings
3- The mezzanine floor of timber floor system supported on the interior with steel posts
4- Steel roof system with long-run metal sheeting with 2 roof ventilators fitted to each factory

You will do the following:
You are to outline how you will plan, coordinate and manage the following for each of the projects above:
1- Set out the building
2- Lay the footings or concrete slab including damp coursing and termite protection.
3- Lay the floor system including damp coursing and termite protection.
4- Build the structural wall systems and wall cladding systems including the installation of windows and external doors. You will include the type of wall systems needed for each building so as to meet the BCA.
5- Build the structural roof system and install the roof cladding system
6- Explain how the processes you employ will ensure compliance with the relevant codes (including Fire rating), standards, regulations, industry construction principles, contract documents, and project documentation and ensure the quality of structures for the class of building. You need to reference the parts of BCA volume 1 that apply to each section.

1- You are to demolish an existing single-story house that is lined externally with asbestos cement sheeting. Inside linings are of Masonite to the majority of the house and Asbestos cement sheets to the bathroom and laundry. It has a pitched roof of hardwood timber and corrugated iron roof sheeting.

1- Plan the demolition of the structure taking in accordance with structural principles.
2- Coordinate the demolition in accordance with legislation, environmental standards, and safe work practice.
