We are going to be creating a Surreal Composite, giving you a lot more creative freedom to branch out and discover your own style. There are guidelines in place (see the instructions and rubric below) however, the concept, images and composition are all up to you. I suggest that you check out sites such as the_life_of_aivax to view the work of Vanessa Rivera, one of the artists mentioned in the tutorial, there is also a time lapse of the work being created). We are not copying someone else’s artwork (that is also considered academic dishonesty) but rather, we are collecting ideas, looking at styles and treatment of design elements to inform our own process. Think outside of the box, there will be more marks designated to creativity in this project.

I suggest that you search and find your images first and decide on your theme. Free stock photo sites are limited so you may need to cater your ideas towards the images you have access to. Please include a short sentence or paragraph describing your theme in the note section while you upload your project to D2L.

There are no step-by-step instructions for this project because we are using all the tools and techniques we have learned in the course and applying them to create your very own original artwork.
