Overview
This document will provide you with information regarding the assessment for the module Cloud Computing.  In here you will find an overview of the company which you are consulting for and details of their requirements.  The company is a startup which has been operating for a year as a couple of friends.  They are called KickITVids and they recently presented their idea to a panel at the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce for support and were successful.  As a prize from this they will be allocated a consultant team which you work for to make suggestions on how they can expand on their business idea.  There are experts on a number of areas, such as advertising and financing, but your area will look at the technology aspect of this.  As a part of their own research they have been looking at AWS cloud technology. They have attended a number of online sessions and are interested in AWS Rekognition technology.  They would like advice on whether this could be something which they could use in the future at the company. 
Company Background
KickITVids is a name which two friends have been using to work with their friends.  They enhance video footage which has been uploaded to their server from local people. Some time ago they recognised that people were having to add graphics and improve video footage which unfortunately not everyone has the skills to do well.  To deal with this on a personal basis they have written some software in Python which automates this process and does work such as enhancing the picture, sound quality and adding graphics such as intro/outros sequences based on the information which is provided to the software.  This started as a home project for videos which were being uploaded to YouTube but as time passed they realised that they were increasingly doing this for friends.  They recognised that the equipment which they used at home was good quality but it simply took a long to complete processing and at times the computers are running 24/7 on this. They took their idea which they thought would be commercially successful - based on the local experience -  and presented it to the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce. The representatives of the Chamber of Commerce liked their idea and have offered them support to commercialise this.  
At the moment, the two people that started this still have a “Day Job” which they do not want to give up in case their business idea does not work out. 
The IT infrastructure they are using are two games grade computers with graphics cards, located in a spare room of a house. The computers are both running 24/7 doing work for friends and this is tying up the computers which is costing a lot.  In addition there is a NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive with 8 Tbytes of storage which uses RAID 1 for reliability. 
Below is a step by step description of how this process works. Within this context the word  ‘customer’ is referring to the person who the work is being carried out for. 

The customer emails to say that they would like a video enhancement - this information is then stored in a text file with the customer name as the file ID.  Inside of the file is the additional text information which they want putting onto the video such as the name, game played or any other text required
The Customer will upload the video to a NAS drive
One of the two members of KickITVids will then copy that video to one of the local machines based on lowest utilisation
The script is run on the video and this will take take roughly 2 hours on a 30 minute for a 1080p video to complete
Multiple versions of the file will be produced at different resolutions, for example, phone, computer and Youtube usage
The completed videos are then transferred back to the NAS drive into the same directory with the word “_completed” prepended to the file name
The customer is then emailed to say that the work is done
The customer then simply logs into the NAS drive and downloads the completed video files they want
Once this is completed the customer will delete the original video file and the enhanced versions.
The text file with the customer name as the file ID is deleted by one of the two members of KickITVids
Assessment Details
In this assessment you are being asked to look at the current infrastructure and consider making suggestions on changing this towards a Cloud based infrastructure.  You will submit a professionally formatted report to the company.

• As a part of this you will need to consider:
• Benefits and risks of developing a Cloud based IT Strategy 
• Discussion of the elements which could be run in the Cloud
• Creation of a suitable topology using the AWS environment, with screen captures to show
• Discussion of AWS Rekognition technology and where this would be useful within the company

As a part of this you will create an environment inside of AWS Cloud.  You have access to this through the same location where you are accessing the tutorial material at the moment.  As you will notice you do not have unlimited access to these and your individual limit is given at the top of the screen.  If you use the sandbox environment you are limited to 4 hours so work on what you are doing and recreate the design which you specified. At the end of 4 hours your work will be deleted automatically by the system.  Although you have a lot of access in the sandbox it is not unlimited and as such if you come to a feature which you require but is not available that is fine, just state this.  There is no requirement to write code for this; you are simply building the infrastructure so please just get appropriate screen grabs of the console to show this setup, with additional suitable screens to assist the reader. The screen grabs should be put into the Appendix at the end of the report. 
If you prefer you can sign up for a free tier AWS account to do the work.  We DO NOT recommend this though as there is a potential for costs with this.  The sandbox environment should have all of the access rights you need for this assignment, with NO cost attached.
