The Purpose of this Assessment

Task

You will be expected to complete an individual critical review using the following steps:

Step 1: Develop a review search question using the PICO method that informs the group project topic area you have been provided with in week 2.

Step 2: Establish your eligibility criteria (with a rationale) e.g. What is your time fame 2019-2024? Within Australia or global? Within which health profession Public Health or Health Promotion?

Step 3: Using the search question and eligibility criteria conduct a literature search in multiple library databases to obtain the most relevant literature on your question (evidence of the search needs to be included as an appendix in your written assessment).

Step 4: From the search select the 5 or more most relevant articles to critically appraise.

Step 5: Critically appraise the outcomes from each of the 5 papers using the following appraisals questions and chart into a table:

• Is the evidence from a known, reputable source? 
• Did the study use project management approaches and principles in a health project? 
• Has the evidence been evaluated in any way? If so, how and by whom? 
• How recent is the evidence? 
• How was the outcome measured? 
• Is that a reliable way to measure? 
• How large was the effect size? 
• What implications does the study have for your group project? Is it relevant? 
• Can the results be applied to your group project topic?
