Drawing a comparison critically and argumentatively between two particular low-income countries (Afghanistan and Ethiopia), outline the successes or failures in achieving the Millennium development goal (MDG) targets for maternal mortality rates (MMRs) for each country. Critically evaluate if the MDGs, or their successor, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), are sufficient frameworks in addressing this issue.
