Critical Evaluation of a Sustainable City Plan

Assignment Task

In undertaking this task, you are to draw on theory and practice of what makes a sustainable city and be informed by relevant strategies to demonstrate your knowledge of international best practice.

There are a number of elements to this task:

1. Find two sustainable city strategies to critically review and contrast. These could be plans produced by a local or city council, a state agency or developer (where it may relate to a significant development site)
2. Develop an evaluation framework for your critical review (what is your method of evaluation)
3. Undertake your review (the analysis)
4. Make recommendations for improvement
5. Include various examples of best practice that can inform the ‘client’ that may point to where and how improvements can be made
