Highlights
The purpose of reflective assessment is to encourage students to think critically about their own learning, experiences, and personal growth. Reflective assessment typically involves self-assessment and self-reflection, where individuals examine their own thoughts, feelings, actions, and experiences in a structured and systematic way. This process serves several important purposes:
1. Self-awareness: Reflective assessment helps individuals become more self-aware by encouraging them to analyse their own strengths and weaknesses, skills, knowledge, and areas for improvement. It allows them to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their abilities.
2. Learning and growth: Reflective assessment promotes a deeper understanding of the subject matter or experiences being assessed. It allows individuals to make connections between theory and practice, leading to more meaningful learning and personal growth.
3. Critical thinking: Reflective assessment encourages individuals to think critically about their own experiences and learning processes. It involves evaluating one's actions, decisions and thought processes, which can enhance problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
4. Goal setting: By reflecting on past experiences and learning, individuals can set realistic and meaningful goals for the future. Reflective assessment can help individuals identify areas where they want to improve and develop strategies to achieve their objectives

Task Description
Students should consider and address some of the following questions - but not limited to - for each theory or framework they are interpreting, evaluating, and planning (which are parts of the reflecting process):
Are there aspects of the theory/framework you found particularly interesting or challenging? And Why?
Did you experience difficulty with a particular theory/framework? If so, what was the turning point when it became clearer and you ‘got it’? Was this through an article, an activity, a video, a tutorial and/or discussion?
How does the theory/framework apply to your experience? (Please note this assessment is for the organisational behaviour unit so students need to link the theory/framework to their work experience, group work at university and/or a particular activity in their class).
Are there theories/frameworks that challenge your understanding or interpretation of this experience?
Does your knowledge of the theory/framework tie in with anything you have learned in the past or from another unit? Has it changed your perspectives, or affirmed something you already knew?
How will this new knowledge guide my future attitudes and actions at work, in professional life or in career plan?
Theories/Frameworks
For this assessment, you are required to critically reflect (which includes interpreting, describing, and evaluating) 3 (three) OB theories/frameworks listed below that you have either found interesting, have a personal affinity for, or feel a sense of connection with. Reflective writing is an opportunity to articulate what you have learned, so it is not just a description or summary of these theories and frameworks that you are required to evaluate. Hence, it is crucial that you read widely and think critically about what you are learning or have learned in OB.
Research depth: Given that OB is a first-year unit, it may be difficult for some students to pick relevant theories/frameworks. Please pick 3 OB theories/frameworks/concepts below and they are covered quite comprehensively in the textbook and lecture. Please also check the rubric. Also, students need to conduct research beyond the textbook and lectures in order to delve deep into these theories/frameworks and their applications. Some theories/frameworks are massive (e.g., team effectiveness model), and therefore, students may select only one or some elements of the theory/frameworks (please consult your tutor if you go down this path).
