MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSESSMENT

The aim of the coursework is to give you the opportunity to meet the three threshold learning outcomes for the module. It does this by requiring you to work in a Scrum team and work in planning and preparing for a Sprint Planning Meeting, develop a Sprint, and evaluate risks and compare Scrum to other project management processes or practices. You will collaborate in Scrum meetings in a team and produce a set of Scrum artefacts. Your portfolio will involve presenting evidence and reflection from your involvement and experience in these meetings. These meetings will be conducted in seminars of the module. All students are expected to attend the seminars and participate and prepare for the seminar activities. Failure to do so, may lead to failing the coursework. To aid your coursework, the lectures will present the content you will have to apply. This assessment guide should be read alongside the study guide, and in the context of the guidance you are given through lectures, and on seminars link on Blackboard Learn.

LO2: Be able to critically to evaluate issues and problems that arise during these phases or processes and to propose approaches that address or resolve them

LO3: Be able to select appropriate tools, methods, or techniques at various stages of a project and critically discuss their applications In the context of this assessment, where the focus in on the Agile approach, this will require you to

1 Be able to break down a project into sensible user stories and tasks.

2 Be able to build on User Stories’ estimations and priorities to plan a project.

3 Demonstrate familiarity with relevant theory and practice and to be able to critically evaluate the Scrum planning process.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSESSMENT

Over the course of Term 1 you have been involved in a Scrum team in planning a Sprint. You should have already conducted the Sprint Planning Meeting with your team. You are expected to demonstrate your appropriate use of this approach. You have to continue with your group project idea but now you have to develop the Sprint you planned with your team and individually plan and manage a 2nd Sprint. Remember to use the assignments of Product Owner and Scrum Master from week 2 till week 9. The Scrum Master is technically able, i.e., that the Scrum master should participate in estimations and development. Every two weeks, there should be a different Scrum Master. Make sure that all members of the team have been a Scrum Master and/or a Product Owner. There will be only one Product Owner. For the purposes of this coursework, there will not be a Product Owner from the Sprint Planning Meeting on week 4 and onwards. Any evidence may be presented as long as it, a) relates to your involvement in the group project and, b) allows you to demonstrate achievement of a learning outcome for this module. Please read details in Format of the Assessment below for more details of what to include in your submission. The phases of the coursework are described as follows:

SPRINT 1 DEVELOPMENT

After you have your Sprint Backlog and have assigned initial tasks to your team members, you and your team have to develop the Sprint. The development of the Sprint should include at least the development of wireframes of your application. Your 2-week Sprint should happen between the 2 nd of November (week 6) and end before the 23rd of November (week 9). Please record when your 2-week Sprint started and ended in your Sprint Info page.
