Background
Aspire Academy is a higher education provider that delivers multiple IT training programs. Aspire Academy plans to implement their private cloud that will host the virtual machines and labs required for their IT subjects. Aspire Academy intends to deploy a proof of concept (POC) OpenStack cloud for two subjects. In this assessment task, you will play the role of a cloud administrator for Aspire Academy. You have been tasked with deploying an OpenStack private cloud that meets the requirements of Aspire Academy. Consider the project requirements and resource specifications below to complete the assessment tasks.

The assessment consists of four tasks, the details of which are as follows:
Task 1 – Cloud diagram
In this task, you will focus on developing a logical diagram of the private cloud. This diagram will help specify the technical implementation (cloud resources) required in the next task. It should also illustrate the logical relation between all resources of the POC cloud.
Task 2 – Cloud Deployment (report)
You are to prepare a written report for the Aspire Academy cloud deployment. It should provide step-by-step instructions for how you have deployed and configured the OpenStack services to meet the Aspire Academy's requirements.
Your report should also include a section on testing OpenStack deployment. The deployment should meet the connectivity and privacy specification of Aspire Academy. Use screenshots and descriptions to support your answer.
Note: Using the available learning resources deploy the Aspire Academy cloud on your computer. You can use an all-in-one or a multi-node deployment of OpenStack. It is recommended that you use VM(s) to deploy OpenStack. You can use any virtualization software you wish (VMware Workstation or Oracle Virtual Box are good potential choices).
Task 3 – Cloud Automation
Using the Heat service, create and deploy a Heat Orchestration Template (HOT) template that automates the process for Aspire Academy. Aspire Academy has specified a HOT template for each subject. You can either choose CSSA501 or CSSD520 to demonstrate the cloud automation for Aspire Academy.
You should create the HOT template, test it and demonstrate how the HOT template can automate the process for the selected subject. Use screenshots and explanations that will support your answers. The content of the HOT template should be included under task 3.
Task 4 – Cloud Federation
A key challenge for any private cloud vendor is to deal with peak times. As these clouds have limited resources, they face a higher risk of cloud bursting. One way to mitigate such a risk is to make use of cloud federation. In this task, you will devise a Cloud Federation strategy for the Aspire Academy. You will need to come up with a guide on what to do if the resource requests exceed the capacity of the OpenStack deployment. The OpenStack can be connected to public clouds and has a dedicated API for connecting to EC2. Your response should include details about the steps and any commands.
