This assignment allows practicing your skills in modelling a complex scenario in UML. You are required to read the scenario described below and produce a UML model (i.e. a set of UML diagrams and associated documentation) that encompasses it. If you have any additional queries about the scenario, ask your tutor or post to the discussion board on Blackboard.
Your model should include:
• design class diagrams,
• State Machine Diagrams,
• Component diagram,
• Any other items you deem necessary to ensure the model is complete and thorough.
Clearly state any assumptions you have made regarding the scenario.
You need to work on this assignment individually. Take the latest version of the Assignment-1 report and extend that with the design models required to develop as
part of Assignment-2.
Submit your completed assignment via Blackboard. Present your work as you would expect a professionally prepared design document to look. Scenario Details
Different bio-sensors are being designed, developed and integrated with the existing daily use personal devices (e.g. watches or decent arm-bands), garments (e.g. cloths or gloves).These devices are capable of transmitting the data by using some wired or wireless technologies. Some survey papers related to these technologies are available. The commonly used bio-signals are Electrocardiogram (ECG), Blood pressure (systolic & diastolic), Body and/or skin temperature, respiration rate, Oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate, perspiration (sweating) or skin conductivity, heart sounds, blood glucose, electroencephalogram (EEG) and body movements.

The continuous monitoring of patients is a challenging task, especially for the patients suffering with chronic diseases, such as cardiac problems, high or low blood pressure, lung infection (asthma) and diabetes. These diseases are among the top ten diseases which are the cause of death of most people around the world and may become the triggering force for some other severe diseases. Heart related diseases are one typical kind of chronic illnesses with rather high recurrence rate. Patients usually live at home rather than stay in hospitals, which makes them far away from medical resources when emergencies happen, as well as leads to a great difficulty for physicians to know the patients’ status in time. Consequently, heart diseases have become one of the leading causes of death. Care of the critically ill patient requires prompt and accurate decisions so that life-protecting and lifesaving therapy can be appropriately applied.
