Background

Task Details
You have been given the task of final design approved by the tender process and have been hired to design a solution. In this submission you should create and design the following:

1. Design and propose a network solution for SME (small-medium enterprise) users including end-to-end scenarios as per the requirements below:

a) Create a company and business and justify why you chose the business. Include a profile and details of the company such as the number of employees, branches, locations, customers and the services they provide.

b) Create a section to describe ‘requirements’, which can be used to propose a solution. You need to include detailed information on network nodes, interfaces, services, hosts, end to end connections, technologies, security aspects, protocols, etc. These requirements should be enough to design a solution.

c) Write a report following the sections and headings instructed below. Assume that your report is intended for presentation to your customer as a high-level solution description. Your oral presentation is regarded as a sales meeting with your customer who expressed an interest in a type of network and service allocated.

d) The number of users can be up to 100 as an SME company.

e) Your solution must include Layer 2 and 3 devices and services, and wireless network in addition to
other devices.

2. The report must include the following sections:

a) Cover page: Title of report, submission date, your name and student number

b) Introduction: Background information including an overview of the network and solutions and the aims of your design. Include a company profile and details of businesses.

c) Requirements: Discuss what the solution requires to deliver which services and the network capacity required such as bandwidth, connectivity, interfaces etc. It should be comprehensive and clear enough to develop a solution. Refer to the sample for examples and guidance (note: the sample does NOT comply with the assignment instruction, and you must comply and follow the instructions for your own assignment).

d) Solution Design: Include at least the items listed below. You will need to structure the section with other additional contents such that the solution design can be used to develop a detailed design.

e) Analysis and Evaluation: Assess and critically evaluate the solution based on how the requirements have been met. Also, consider a section to identify the compliance, e.g. comply, no-comply, partial comply etc. for each requirement item. Use a table if required. Critical evaluation is important as it gives an idea to the client on whether they should proceed with the project or not in addition to
other information in decision-making processes.

f) Conclusion: A summary of your report discussing the importance of the proposed solution and conclude with why the client should choose your solution.

g) Citation and References: The inclusion of in-text references and a reference list of all sources cited throughout the report. Ensure that all references are formatted according to the IEEE style
