Your final project will consist of implementing the database and associated queries/reports/forms for the Douglas College student course management system described in Appendix A of your textbook. You will have two interim deliverables, the final submission, plus end user documentation to submit.
 

Key Dates/Deliverables:
10/29 - 11/3: Read Appendix A in great detail, extracting and documenting ALL requirements, data elements, dependencies, etc. Submit any questions you have to the Final Project Discussion board located in the Final Project folder.
11/4: (No Class) Answers to your final project questions will be posted on the Final Project Discussion Board .
11/5 – 11/10: Complete and document your initial database design in DBDL format. Apply database design best practices and techniques you learned in Chapters 5 & 6 to your solution. Your initial solution needs to be 3NF or higher and look very similar to Fig A-17. (See details on expected deliverables due 11/11)
11/11: First Interim Progress Check (10 points): . Upload your overall DBDL database design including tables, keys, foreign keys, data elements, relationships, constraints. Make sure your design has addressed reporting requirements, views, forms, queries, etc as per the requirements. NOTE: Uploading a photo of a figure from the text book will not earn you any points :-) You will also not learn much unless you actually DO the design work.
