In this assessment task, you are required to select an issue that relates to a vulnerable and/or culturally diverse population group from the list below. You are then required to identify and analyze the impact that the issue has on the provision of safe and effective clinical practice

1. Select an issue:

• Obtaining consent from non-English speaking patients.
• Impacts of the delayed transfer from the Emergency Department on patients with mental health issues.
• Providing culturally safe care for First Nations patients.

2. Search for evidence-based literature

Use the library’s academic databases (e.g. CINAHL, PubMed, ProQuest, Scopus) to find THREE separate articles that provide evidence-based recommendations for practice. For each article choose one recommendation. Ensure that each article is current, reliable and fit for purpose.

3. Develop and write your analysis Your written analysis should be a total of words. The suggested structure of your essay should be as follows:

Introduction: Your introduction should include a brief outline of your chosen issue, and the impact on the vulnerable and/or culturally diverse population and clinical practice

Evidence-based recommendations: For each of the three articles explain how the recommendations work to address your chosen issue. Justify the use of the recommendations by briefly discussing each article’s currency, reliability, authority and purpose.
