Romance scams can be referred to as a sort of fraudulent activities, in which criminals create fake identities in order to establish relationships with inexperienced and naive victims online. These activities are driven by malign intentions of larceny or identity deception. The menace of romance scams has been exacerbated by the proliferation of online dating platforms and the anonymity afforded by the internet, making it difficult for law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.This report intends to furnish a comprehensive analysis of the cybercrime policy menace of romance scams, which has become an increasingly prevalent issue in recent years. Aside from that, this report will delineate the diverse stakeholders associated in battling romance scams and scrutinize their respective interests (Coluccia et al. 2020). Furthermore, the study will underscore the discourse of the existing policy landscape in Australia and evaluate its efficacy in resolving the issue of romance scams. This study concludes will substantiating required policy interventions and strategies to consolidate the response to prevent romance scams in Australia, once and for all.
