Learning Outcomes (LO):
After completing the module, you should be able to:
1. Critically assess desired outcomes from data analysis activities.
2. Evaluate the use of data collection methods in solving specific organisational needs. 3. Critically analyse the effectiveness of an employed data collection tool. 4. Design a data collection tool to meet a specific organisational purpose. 5. Carry out, and interpret the results of, a pilot exercise for a data collection too.
6. Make developmental recommendation to enhance the effectiveness of an employed data  collection tool.
7. Graduate Attribute – Lifelong Learning
Manage employability, utilising the skills of personal development and planning in different  contexts to contribute to society and the workplace
Maximum word count: 4,000 words
Please note that exceeding the word count by over 10% will result in a reduction in grade by  the same percentage that the word count is exceeded.

In Assignment 1, you have presented an organisation or project case study and designed  data collection instruments to support its business intelligence. This assignment is aimed at  the application of data collected in Assignment 1 to solving the related business question. Specifically, you are required to analyse the obtained data and evaluate the outcomes in the  context of your chosen case study.
Task 2.1 Hypothesis formulation
Formulate a hypothesis for answering your business question. This should include the  following.
• Identification of independent and dependent variables derived from the collected  datasets.
• Design of a diagram showing relationships amongst the identified variables. • Design of hypothesis as a possible answer to the business question stated in Task  1.1. This hypothesis should be relationship- or classification-based.

Task 2.2 Data preparation
Prepare the collected data for use in a statistical tool. Discuss data cleaning, transformation and integration procedures required as part of this process. Use of any statistical tool (e.g.  SPSS or Excel) and/or coding (e.g. Python) is allowed for the purposes of this  assignment.
Task 2.3 Data analysis
Demonstrate a pilot study of the collected data. The response should be based on statistical  analysis and include the following.

• Identification and justification of a statistical test relevant to evaluating the hypothesis  formulated in Task 2.1.
• Application of this test to your integrated dataset.
• Discussion of the test outcomes and their implications for answering the business  question stated in Task 1.1.
• Graphical presentation and further interpretation of the test outcomes. • Acknowledgement of the limitations and assumptions of the presented data model,  and how it can potentially be enhanced for more accurate analysis.
Task 2.4 Deployment considerations
Discuss how the presented data analytics can be deployed within the chosen case study.  Specifically, include the following.
• The analysis of risks and potential challenges associated with this deployment.

• The ethical aspects of the deployment of this project.
• The conclusions and recommendations, which should summarise your findings and  explain what particular benefits this presented model brings to your chosen  organisation or projectt.

Formative Feedback
You have the opportunity to submit a complete draft of this assignment to receive formative  feedback.
The feedback is designed to help you develop areas of your work and it helps you develop  your skills as an independent learner.
Your work must be submitted to your tutor at least two weeks prior to the assessment  submission date. This is to allow time for you to reflect on the feedback and draft your final  submission.
Formative feedback will not be given to work submitted after the above date.
