Research Question

Does the starting position of the attacking team affect the likelihood of scoring points during a possession?

The data analysis should be done in Jupiter notebook ( using Python)  with the following steps according to the research question:

1. Data requirements Research question to be used for analysis.

2. Data collection data is gathered and added to a data file which is the csv file added to the folder .

3. Data processing The data is processed for analysis and modelling.

4. Data cleaning The processed data might have duplicates or errors. The data is cleaned to remove the errors that may occur while modeling.

5. Exploratory data analysis This stage helps the data analyzed to make some meaning out of the data

6. Data Modelling/ Algorithms various data modeling techniques are used including physical models, conceptual models, and mathematical models such as machine-learning models to answer the research question.

7. Data product A data product is what takes the data input and gives output to the user with analyzing the research question.

8. Report After the data analysis is complete, a report is generated which may include charts, graphs, and figures to help the user draw inferences from the data analysis.

The requirements for writing the report include:

• An Executive Summary whose purpose is
• To provide a document in miniature that may be read instead of the longer document. The Executive Summary is directed at managerial readers who may not read the whole report and who may not have the appropriate technical knowledge.
• To explain your work in terms understandable by the non-expert reader.

• To allow readers to understand the background of the study without needing to consult the literature themselves

• Approach : what you have done and how you have done it, with a clear rationale.
