Part A: Preparation of research tool
You have by now selected a topic and reviewed some of the research that has already been done on the subject. Taking forward the research gaps identified, think of specific variables that you want to focus on and formulateresearch objectives (minimum 2, maximum 4). Createan online survey form to collect data to fulfill your research objectives.

Follow the guidelines below.
i. Develop questions to get the demographic information of the respondents (e.g. age, gender, family related information, education, occupation, income, housing type etc.).
ii. Break down your objectives into themes that will form the sections of your tool.
iii. Formulate questions that your respondents will be asked under each theme/section.
iv. For each question, write down all possible answers to generate the options for closeended questions in your tool.

 Please note, you maynclude open ended questions also, if it is required.

• The wording for survey questions should be short and concise.
• Each question should be clearly stated so that there is no misunderstanding misinterpretation about what is being asked.
• When you are writing a question, ensure that you are only asking one question at a time.
• Ensure that you are asking the questions that are worded in a neutral way.
•  Make sure that the questions asked are commensurate with the area of knowledge of the respondent i.e. respondent should be able to answer the questions you ask of them

Part B: Data Analysis in Research

• Download a data set from the link(s) provided on TISSOL or from an alternative authentic secondary data source. Each student is free to identify and download any secondary dataset of their choice.
• Edit/clean the data table to make it analysis-friendly in Excel
• Most secondary data sources have large datasets. Select a data subset of a manageable number of cases (between 75-200 respondents/cases approximately) AND with a minimum of 5 variables. Paste the selected data onto a new sheet in the downloaded Excel file
• Label (Rename) the first sheet as ‘ORIGINAL DATASET’ and the new sheet with the selected data pasted as ‘ASSIGNMENT DATASET’
• Using the data subset that you have selected, do any 10 from the 14 analyses listedbelow, relevant to this data.
