Data Collection - Quantitative Data - Variables -  Observation - Statistics Assessment Answer
Task:

Prepare your data.
- Inspect the data sets you have.  Choose one recent year that will give you many observations for all three variables.  In some cases you may want to or need to use different years.  For example, with my three chosen variables, I collected the data on HIV infection and child murder for the year 2004.  Data on contraceptive use for 2004 is sparse, and I may suspect that child murder rates in 2004 are related to contraceptive use in previous years rather than 2004 itself.  I therefore use contraceptive use data for the year 2000, but if no observation is available for a country in 2000, I use the observation for 2001.  If there is no observation for 2001 then I use the observation for 2002 and if there is no observation for that year I use the observation for 2003.  This way I have many observations for the third variable.
- Construct a multivariate data set - i.e. for each country you should have an observation for each variable.  Try to have as many countries in the data set as possible to ensure a representative sample.

Assessment
Use the MS Excel output for each model to assess which one you think is the best predictive model of the dependent variable.   You can do this even if you found problems such as nonlinearity or autocorrelation during your exploration - just ignore these problems.  Collinearity, however, should not be ignored when you choose a model.

The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to demonstrate your skills in modelling, estimating and analysing empirical relationships using concepts
and tools.
