The client has been accessing the information via a flat .csv file, reading the information, processing it and then closing it down. It has been decided they would like to keep the information in a database so it can be accessed without the need to re-import the file each time The client has decided to allow Skillage I.T. to design the data table in whatever structure and using whichever database we deem suitable.
Questions:
Choose which database you will use to hold the data, and write a document of 200 words or less explaining your choice and the benefits and possible downfalls.
2. Create the table(s) required in the database ensuring the correct schema is applied.
3. Import the data from the .csv file into the database.
4. Produce a collection of documents and diagrams that outline the database design. The deliverables include:
a. An Entity Relationship or Object diagram
b. Data Structure
i. Primary and Foreign keys
ii. Indexes
iii. Data dictionary (meta data)
iv. Normalisation profile
c. An outline detailing your design choices and reason (250 – 500 words)
d. Submission of final database to instructor for assessment
