Delma is to introduce a new product range 'Delma Instant Noodles' in two delicious flavours, curry and chicken. The noodle comes in 80g packs which to be made available at over 60,000 outlets directly through the company's well established distributor network and another 6,000 through partnerships.

At a staff meeting, Mr. Kannangara, CEO of the consumer cluster said that this initiative opens another category for the company and highlighted their commitment for new ventures. It is researched that over 8,000 tons of instant noodles are consumed annually in Sri Lanka, showing a growth over 60% in the last few years, proving it to be a potential category to play in. It is imperative for Delma to plan a flawless launch and ad campaign to ensure the lucrative market is entered strategically.

Your role
The Marketing Director of Delma group has requested you as the Assistant Brand Manager of the consumer product range to complete the following tasks and hand over a report in a period of two weeks.

TASK ONE
Prepare an agency brief to develop a campaign for the first six months after the launch of the new product.
GUIDELINE NOTE ONE
Use proper framework for the agency brief along with steps and sequences.

TASK TWO
Identify and recommend appropriate integrated marketing communication tools (IMC) that should be used for the product launch and campaign. Explain and justify your recommendations along with a six-month plan with proposed activities and budgets per chosen tools.

TASK THREE
Explain advertising appeals in detail and identify which appeal(s) will be the ideal fit for the launch adverts on TV and press separately.

GUIDELINE NOTE THREE
Identify the type of appeals using appropriate examples when explaining the type of advertising appeals. Be creative and propose examples on the application of the chosen appeal(s) for TV and press adverts.
