Case studies have been included in this unit for you to demonstrate an advanced understanding of the procedures in the selected ultrasound examination, as well as a demonstration of your ability to critically analyse information. It is hoped that you will consider how this knowledge and skills can be incorporated into your own work.
Content guidelines
The case study assignment consists of a set of ultrasound images that you will be asked to assess and evaluate. This includes identifying normal anatomy and pathology found in the case, research and discussion of the pathology as well as a critique of the images presented.
Alternatively, you may use your own clinical ultrasound examination as the basis for the case study. The case should be a thyroid examination that you have participated in, and was performed in the last six months. Case studies should ideally demonstrated some pathology or abnormality. If using your own case, inclusion of de-identified ultrasound images is an important part of the submission. Please ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. Technical scan information should be visible on the images.  
 An appropriate reference list appended to each case study is an important part of the study and this should use APA style as set out at:
