Task 2 - Funding Proposal
For this part of the assessment, students must prepare a funding proposal using the instructions specified below, as well as a number of supporting documents. In a simulated representation of the process, students will submit the proposal to their assessor as if they are applying for funding from an investor in a real-world setting.
Alternatively, students may submit an application for a real-world project they are working on. If students opt to apply for a real-world project, the application may differ. So, assessors must ensure students submit an application summary that identifies what information was submitted, as well as the documents required in 1 and 2 below.
Funding proposal
Students must complete and submit a 700-1000-word Funding Proposal, detailing the product/idea being developed, the company details, and the applicant information. This proposal must include the following sections:
1. Business Overview: Explain what the business is and who is in the team.
2. Problem Overview: Explain the problem you have identified.
3. Solution: Explain what your solution/idea is and how your idea solves the problem.
4. Objectives: Specify the main goals you have and how you will achieve them.
5. Resources: List the resources, tools and equipment will you need.
6. Go to market strategy: Explain how you plan to enter the market (what marketing channels, processes or tools will you use to get customers?).
7. Revenue: Specify your financial projections/ROI expectations.
8. Funding: Specify the amount needed and justify this against the resources.
9. Timetable: Explain when you think the product will start making money, and when investors may start seeing a profit.
