Mrs Nerida Smith, aged 53 years visited the Clinic for the first time. Nerida has not seen a dental professional 3 years now; she had a bad dental experience, and this creates anxiety everytime she thinks of visiting a dental practice. She has recently built up the courage to visit the AIH Clinic upon hearing from a friend on how personable everyone is at that Oral Health Department. Nerida has come in to consult with you. Her main concern is that she has noticed her gums have been bleeding for a while now, especially when brushing. Further conversations revealed Nerida has some other concerns which are:
A Broken tooth top right at the back that is not causing pain, just some sensitivity to cold
A Broken tooth bottom right at the back, no pain/sensitivity/discomfort
A Missing tooth bottom left that she finds difficult to clean after eating She Wakes up in the morning with some pain around both her “jaw joints” that radiates to her temporal area.
