Assignment Task 

There are three sections to this assessment:

1. Block of Land: rates and ratios, plans, scale drawings and trigonometry, area.

2. Granny Flat Design: plans, scale drawings and trigonometry.

3.  Pool Design and Usage: plans, scale drawings, trigonometry, measurement.

Section

1. Block of Land

You are planning to purchase a block of land. On this land, you will be building a small holiday house/granny flat, as well as install a pool. The block of land must be:

• Between 600 - 700 square metres in area.
• An irregular quadrilateral (have 4 different length sides).

2. Granny Flat Design

On your block of land from Section 1, you must construct a two-bedroom granny flat. The building:

• Can be of any layout.
• Must contain facilities to be self-contained (kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom, laundry, lounge/rumpus.).
• Cannot have an area greater than 140.
• Internal wall height is to be 2.4m.

3. Pool Design and Usage

On your block of land from Section 1 (above), you need to design a natural lagoon style pool for your yard. The natural lagoon style pool:

• Must fit on your property, as there is already your small holiday house/granny flat there.
• Research design ideas for natural lagoon-style pools.
