This assessment consists of two parts. Part A requires you to develop a concept map linking the four concepts of belongingness, resilience, emotional intelligence and effective communication to doing, being and knowing (Duchscher & Windey 2018). Part B is a written assessment asking you to apply the concepts you have presented in your concept map to a case study.

Part A: Facilitating transition to professional practice Part A of this assessment requires you to consider how the concepts and features of belonginess, resilience, emotional intelligence and communication will facilitate your transition to professional practice based on Judy Boychuk Duchscher’s transition theory, doing, being and knowing. 

You will need to think about the four concepts of belongingness, resilience, emotional intelligence and communication described in the first two topics of this course, each of their features, and how they apply to three stages of transition to practice. For example, when considering the concept of belongingness your will need to list the features of this concept and how they relate to the stage of ‘doing’. You will then need to consider how the features of belonginess may change as your transition to practice moving through the stages of ‘being’ to ‘knowing’. 

Use Microsoft PowerPoint to prepare your concept map with Transition to Professional Practice (TPP) in the centre and then the arrows out to the four concepts leading to three stages of transition as described by Judy Boychuck Duchscher.
