InstructionsPlease note the following requirements for a Meets Requirements (MR) result for each question:
Complete the project to design and develop a competency-based learning program to cover the full competency standard BSBCMM401 Make a presentation.
Use the Case Study provided to meet the client’s needs for the design and development of the learning program.
Use the spaces provided in each step to give the required information.
NB. If you wish to use an alternative competency standard for this project, please discuss this with your teacher.
For further instructions and guidelines for completing this assessment, please refer to the DES Cluster Assessment Guide.
STEP 1: Background information about the learning program
Submit a few paragraphs of introductory information about the learning program you will design and develop. This information should include the following:
The purpose of the learning program and how this was identified e.g. Is there a gap in skills and/or knowledge
The learning outcomes of the program
Number of learners and the characteristics of the learner group
The location or context of the learning program
This information is to help your assessor understand the overall context of the learning program.
STEP 2: Unpacking the competency standard
Contextualisation
Access and familiarise yourself with the unit of competency BSBCMM401 Make a presentation that you will be using as the basis for this project. You will also need to follow the case study provided for contextualisation.
Unpack and annotate with contextualisation for delivery of this competency standard. You must annotate the entire competency standard which includes -
Elements and performance criteria
Foundation skills
Performance evidence
Knowledge evidence
Assessment conditions
Copy and paste your annotated unit of competence here.
If you cannot copy and paste, please submit it as a separate file, and provide the file name here:
STEP 3: Training Package, Qualification and Packaging rules
Research, identify and analyse a training package relevant to meeting the client’s needs for DES Project 1.
Do the following:
Name the training package (title and code)
Identify one (1) qualification from the training package:
Name the qualification (title and code)
Identify the qualification packaging rules
List a combination of core and elective units (title and code) from the qualification that are suitable for this target group.
The number of selected units must meet qualification packaging rules.
Highlight the unit that will be the basis for DES Project 1 YELLOW
Provide an example of how the units may be clustered for delivery and assessment to your target group.
Support your example with a brief explanation describing why you have clustered the units in this manner.
Describe how this qualification meets the needs of the client described in STEP 1.
STEP 4: Learning Program Plan Part 1: General Program InformationIn this section you design and develop the Learning Program Plan and Risk Control Plan to inform and look after the safety and welfare of the candidate. General information
Program name RTO Client Program aim Qualification Competency standards Program outcomes Delivery and assessment information
Prerequisites Delivery mode Program duration (total) Assessment During training In workplace(after training) Learner and assessment information
Number of learners Target learner group (profile) Special needs Safety and other logistics
Venue and equipment required Learning materials and other resources required Pre-program information or pre-work Program administration People to be informed Safety issues Other logistics STEP 5: Risk Control PlanIn this section you design and develop the Risk Control Plan to inform and look after the safety and welfare of the candidate.
Part 1: General information, legislation, regulation, standards and codes of practice
Program Name Competency Standard or benchmark Location of program

STEP 9: Learning program evaluation toolInstructions for the learning program designer:
Ask a peer to read and review your learning program, and provide you with feedback using the learning program evaluation tool.
Instructions for the learning program reviewer:
You are required to:
Read the entire learning program carefully
Proofread and identify gap information, recommendations for improvement
Give meaningful feedback on the learning program evaluation tool (below).
All programs can be improved upon. Ensure your feedback highlights areas for improvement.

Strengths Weaknesses Recommendations 2 Competency requirements: Are all requirements of the unit/s of competency and related assessment requirements covered in both learning and assessment activities?
Strengths Weaknesses Recommendations
3 Learner-centric:
a.Does program content take into account, the existing skills, knowledge and experience of the target learner/s?
