1. As a network engineer, you are required to design a network for an organization. The network design should meet the following requirements: 

i. Four routers

  • Two branch routers
  • One headquarters router
  • One ISP router
  • Server connectivity for ISP (DNS, Web and TFTP)

ii. LAN Two LANs per branch router

  • Two LANs with 400 hosts
  • One LAN with 160 hosts
  • One LAN with 240 hosts
  • One LAN with 3 hosts for ISP router server

iii. IP addressing

  • Private IP address internal network
  • The public IP address for ISP

After the design is complete, you have to draft a budget table to estimate the cost of network architecture.

The deliverables of this task includes

i. Complete Network Diagram

ii. IP Addressing

iii. Budget table

2. Based on the corporate network in Task 1, configure the network using the given requirement and network must be fully functional. Use Packet Tracer for the configuration.

The network configuration should include

i. Routing protocol

  • IGP
  • EGP

ii. WAN protocol with Authentication

iii. VPN between branches

iv. ACL

v. Secured remote connectivity

vi. DHCP service vii. VLAN

  • Minimum 3 VLAN
  • Management VLAN
  • Blackhole VLAN

For ACL, refer to the policy below

i. Only Secured remote connections is allowed

ii. Web traffic is allowed

iii. BGP updates are allowed

Once the network is configured, a configuration backup will be performed on the TFTP server for network devices deemed as critical points.
