What do I need to do?
You are required to refer to the document PN8168 Plans Pack and PN8168 Soil Report provided to you and complete following tasks:
• Using the project plans, specification and documentation, and using the information below, calculate the total load on the column pad footing at Grid B7.
• Wind load to Roof – 1.2 kPa
• Live Loads to floors in accordance with AS1170 (See table extract in the Learner Guide)
• Reinforced concrete density 2400 kg/m3
• Submit your calculations with your assessment submission.
• Using the determination calculated above and the project documentation, identify whether the footing size is sufficient to meet the structural requirements.
• If the footing is found not to be sufficient, describe what design changes could be made to address this including identifying whether the design changes would be a Deemed to Satisfy or performance solution.
• Write and email to the relevant industry professionals that would be involved in solving the problem. Describe the issue, recommend the design changes you have determined. Request that each professional take the appropriate action (describe the action you need them to take) to ensure that the suggested design changes meet the requirements of the NCC and appropriate standards.
How will I be assessed for this task?
For this task you are required to submit the following:

• Written report outlining if the footing is sufficient and if not, clearly describe what changes would need to be addressed. Your report must be clearly written and formatted
