Assignment Task

Brief

For this module, you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating reflection on personal, professional and academic development over the course.

Task

1. Conduct an analysis of the leadership skills you think are important for a 21st-century leader, using theory to support your analysis. Once you have discussed the leadership skills your think are important, consider your own practice and your current leadership skills.

2. Analyse and reflect on your present position (you could use a SWOT/TOWs, your Insights report etc.) and also consider your short/mid/long term career goals. Conduct a gap analysis of your skills. Following this analysis, and also considering your goals, create a personal development action plan using the form in the appendices.

3. You should seek to show your progress during your studies, taking a critical approach and ensuring all your learning experiences inform your views. You should adapt and amend your development plan as new information becomes available, ensuring that you can justify any changes made - keeping a reflective diary may be a way of achieving this.

4. Taking the results of the personal development plan you have produced, analyse how your development will contribute to the performance of your own (or future) organization, including a discussion on ethics and social responsibility. Following your integrated consultancy project you should update your plan, ensuring that you are effectively prepared for returning to the workplace, undertaking your placement or progressing your career.

5. Following your Integrated Consultancy Project (ICP), produce a group presentation of 15 minutes, that demonstrates the approach you took and the value you added to the product, service or project upon which you worked. You should also provide supporting evidence of the client feedback you have received during the process and outcomes. There are no set rules regarding personal reflection – it is personal and you need to find the right process for you as an individual.
