from clients across South India before shipping to Frankfurt, Germany. In light of its expanding business in Europe, DGF envisages more business from South India. To compete in new emerging global freight forwarding environment, it needs to develop a new and appropriate consolidation plan.

Can Datta create a freight forwarding program on a weekly basis using the Integer Linear Programming (ILP) model? What are the appropriate decision variables? What is the objective function? What are the constraints? State the assumptions being made and discuss the approach being used.

i) formulate the ILP model,

ii) to compute shipment quantity for each origin and each day, relevant airline and road transportation costs and finally the daily revenues. Solve the ILP model you developed using SOLVER. Compare the profits under the current system and that proposed by Datta. How does delay risk affect the profits? Overall, what
insights does Datta gain from the development of the ILP model and its solution.Submit a short 1-page report along with the problem formulation, all SOLVER sheets/output and any other computations that you might use in analyzing the model.
