DaxTech is a small New Zealand based company that provides a number of technical services to its clients. It has two offices located in Auckland - Auckland CBD and Albany, where it manages the services and meetings with the clients. 

Currently, the company is using a wired network for desktop computers with gateway addresses 192.168.0.1/24 for City and 192.168.0.50/24 for the Albany office. The company is considering a change in network setup and trying to switch to the wireless network as they have issued laptops to some employees and wants to support mobility in their network so that the laptop users can move in office premise. However, desktop computers will continue using wired connections. The following table shows the specification of the devices in the new network:

The new network setup project is assigned to your team. You are assigned to design the network and write a formal report on the tasks performed. 

Refer to the following requirements to complete the assigned task and writing the report: 

Requirement 1: New Network Design and Implementation. (DNCT701)

a. Design a wireless and mobile network for DaxTech to reflect the new devices specified in the scenario using appropriate wireless communication protocol in Riverbed Modeler. 

b. Assign appropriate IPv4 addresses and other network and application protocols to devices.

c. Critically test the network performance and optimize the network as the results of the performance analysis conducted. 

Requirement 2: Write a formal report to present your findings from tasks performed to complete the assigned task.

Your report must contain the following sections:( DNCT701)

a. Executive Summary: Provide an overall review of the report including the purpose of the report, main tasks/activities including which IEEE 802.11 protocols used before and after optimization, and the major findings in relation to network improvements after optimization. 

b. Introduction: Explain the background information of DaxTech and the objectives of the project tasks along with a roadmap to address the challenges while performing the tasks. 

c. Network Design: With the design, you have completed in Requirement 1 (screenshots from OPTNET simulator must be provided), the following should be included in the report: 

1. An explanation of the wireless and mobile network you have designed with justification. 

2. A critical analysis of the performance resulted from the test and provide at least one recommendation on network optimization. 

3. Implemented network optimization detailing the processes and steps to improve the performance. 

4. A critical analysis of the performance of the improved network. 

5. A comparison of the results before and after the optimization (recommend to use a table to compare the two results). 

d. Conclusion: Provide conclusion(s) on the tasks performed and findings obtained during the testing on the network design.
