Domestic Violence: Assessment of three

Violence is an overpoweringly gendered issue, which women are significantly overrepresented as victims of violence and dominant behaviour by men (Special Taskforce on Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland 2015). The exploitation of human rights can exceptionally influence an individual overall wellbeing and health, resulting in reduced self-worth and assurance. Additionally, it is exceedingly evident that their capacity to cooperate and subsidize with the society is at low levels, therefore concluding to seclusion and isolation from the wider community. The main and vital issue that I will be addressing for the NSW Inquiry into Family Violence is ‘Building on current strategies’; by supporting, building, complementing and improving systems and process already in place to provide greater protection and support for victims of domestic and family Violence. In today’s society females are undergoing and distinguishing the act of violence and violation through human rights. These provoking involvements are causing long and temporary damage upon individuals and women in general, such impacts can arise and cause highly adverse and unsolicited issues that result women to feel; insecure, undesirable and anxious, which therefore reduces their overall haven and level of involvement within the wider society. Females are emulated and projected as a defenceless group, as there as numerous sources of sexual assault, family and domestic violence and other highly unacceptable and negative matters that have been recognized to cause several stimulating quarrels and arising subjects within the wider community. Throughout this report there will be various issues and recommendations being addressed and identified, in order to raise and inform the issue of domestic violence more substantially effective, in order to bring upon different ideas and arguments.

In today’s society there are multiple issues that have been leading and increasing the cause of domestic violence for victims in Rural and Remote areas; and these include isolation, services, fear, financial insecurity and social injustice issues (such as feminism theory). I’ve chosen the feminist theory as it have been proven that there is a lot of gender differences when it comes to violence, men are identified to be the main perpetrator. There are high cases of men being the main cause and case of domestic threats towards females. Drawing primarily on victimization research that demonstrates the severe and repetitive nature of male violence, feminist researchers contend that violence is part of a system of coercive controls through which men maintain and persevere a societal dominance over women. As results of such overwhelming issues it is demonstrated that through rough times of violence; Isolation is the number one leading feature in a women's involvement of domestic violence and family violence in rural areas. It is evident that there is a lowered opportunity for individuals experiencing such behaviour of domestic violence in rural and remote areas to be observed and witnessed by others, thus an increased chance of perpetrators preventing and holding the victim from escaping. Further research was proven that no access to private vehicles, poor roads and lack of public transport were issues of high importance for country women, as the lack of transport meant the inability to escape from abuse. Small communities and rural regions are known and recognised for their absence and limited access to services or provision services; as it is recognised that only 39.1% of rural women lived within one hour of a women’s refuge, 21.6% lived within three hours and 15% had to travel overnight to reach their nearest shelter or protection centre. This controversial issue has raised numerous concerns and awareness that individuals living within this environment, are thus subjected to unsatisfied low levels of living and their ability to access organisations, facilities, services is highly limited; which increases the rate and proportion of domestic violence.
