Dominic, aged 32 years. Dominic has a strong family history of type 2 diabetes with his father and uncle diagnosed in their late fifties. Dominic attended a health expo
where he received a random blood glucose reading of 16 mmol/L. He reports gaining about 8 kilograms over the last 4 years, since starting his FIFO role. On returning home, Dominic has been to see his GP who has requested further blood tests, started him on metformin (500mg three times per day) and referred him
to a dietitian.

Lifestyle:
When at home, Dominic enjoys going out drinking with his friends. He reports drinking 8-10 beers per night, while he is home. As he only homes for a few days at
a time, he rarely cooks and eats at his parent's house or buys convenient meals. Hs worksite has a free gym but Dominic is often exhausted after a 12-hour shift. All
meals are provided onsite, with a wide range of foods in a buffet style.
