Download non-financial company level data for any country of your choice for the period 2005-2018. A minimum sample size should be 100 companies. Specifically, download the data for share repurchases and dividend- both cash and stock dividend, industries, total assets, profitability, liquidity and leverage. You are required to:
• Compare the dividends with share repurchases for the sample period, by doing a descriptive statistic. What are some interesting observations?
• With reference to the firm level factors, what are the interesting observations from the data you have analysed? Are there any changing trends? Have companies  repurchased shares by issuing debt or by cash flows held by the company?
• Critically discuss the factors that you think could explain the dividend policy of companies? Please note that you do not need to do any regression analysis for this assignment. Only descriptive and graphical analysis should be used. You need to bring in arguments from previous studies to explain your results.
• Do trimming or winsorizing if required.
