Important: Make tables, enter data and do Chi-squared tests as required. Also remember to perform reciprocal crosses.
Assignment:
Design a a fly with aristapedia mutation (for antennae shape) and a wild type fly. Mate these flies.
a) What phenotypic ratio did you observe in the F1 generation? What were the phenotypes?
b) Perform an F1 cross between two flies with the aristapedia phenotype. What phenotypic ratio did you observe in the F2 generation?
c) Perform a cross between F1 flies with non-aristapedia phenotype. What phenotypic ratio did you observe in the F2 generation?
d) Perform a cross between one F1 fly with non-aristapedia phenotype and one with aristapedia phenotype. What phenotypic ratio did you observe in the F2 generation?
State a hypothesis to explain these ratios and phenotypes.
Which phenotype is dominant and which is recessive?
How will you test your hypothesis?
