PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is being undertaken as part of the unit DTB205 Design Psychology.
The purpose of this project is to gain an understanding of what ‘home’ means to you and how the physical environment contributes to this meaning. You are invited to participate in this project because you are a person known to the student researcher. 
PARTICIPATION
Your participation will involve you taking five photographs of what home represents to you, then emailing the photographs to the student researcher who will use these in an interview with you about your experience of home and how environmental elements in the photos contribute to and support your experience.  An audio recorded interview will take place at an agreed location. The interview will take approximately 20 – 45 minutes of your time. Questions may include:
• Could you please tell me why this image represents home to you?
• What qualities or elements in the image are particularly significant?
Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary. If you do agree to participate you can withdraw from the project without comment or penalty. If you withdraw within one (1) week after the interview session, on request any identifiable information already obtained from you will be destroyed. Your decision to participate or not participate will in no way impact upon your current or future relationship with QUT.

EXPECTED BENEFITS
It is expected that this project will not benefit you directly. However, it will help the student with their project for this unit and ultimately their practice as a designer.

RISKS
There are no risks beyond normal day-to-day living associated with your participation in this project. If you want, you can check the transcript of the interview and ask for any aspect to be removed.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
All comments and responses will be treated confidentially. The names of individual persons are not required in any of the responses. Your name will not appear in the final report.
After the session you will have the opportunity to verify your comments and responses prior to final inclusion in the project report.
The audio recordings will be destroyed after completing the transcription of the session.
Only the student researcher will have access to the recordings.

We would like to ask you to sign a written consent form (enclosed) to confirm your agreement to participate.
