DTB402 : INTERIOR TECHNOLOGY 3 - Design on Revit

INTERIOR TECHNOLOGY TASK :

Using your knowledge of space planning principles, codes, standards and site analysis you will address the requirements of a small commercial project and graphically present your findings to your tutors. You are a graduate designer working in a large architectural office. Your company has been approached by a small Graphic Design company called __?___ (you can invent a name), to complete a ‘test fit’ for a tenancy they are looking at leasing. They wish to see if there will be sufficient space to accommodate their growing needs. Your project leader has completed initial block plans for 3 tenancies on level 15 of the NAB building located at 100 Creek Street, Brisbane. This building went through a major upgrade designed by local interior design company Geyer, in 2008. Your task is to select which of the 3 tenancies is appropriate to work up into a space plan that considers your clients’ requirements and code compliance i.e. fire egress and door circulation. BACKGROUND As a graphic design company they understand the importance of branding and recognise that the reception area is the public face of their business when clients come to the office. They would like a solution for their reception area that is integrated, high end in finish; clever in detailing and presents their company as a professional, contemporary, creative practice who create bold and eye catching solutions tailored to their clients’ brief requirements. 1. A2 FURNITURE PLAN AND COMPLIANCE PLAN - IN REVIT ? 1 x layout (A2 @1:100) ? This proposal should indicate the following;

• Space planning incorporating all client requirements listed in the brief.
• Furniture arrangement showing furniture selections and coding
• Show the building core

? 1 x layout (A2 @ 1:100) – same plan as above with diagramming ? This proposal should indicate the following

• Fire code adherence - diagramming indicating your adherence to fire access and egress codes. This should include required circulation path widths.
• Day-lighting - add dot points to explain what the day-lighting implications of the tenancy are and what measures you will be taking to deal with them.
• Door circulation diagramming – this should indicate circulation requirements as per AS1428.1 to both sides of each door in your tenancy proposal

2. 3D AXONOMETRIC OF TENANCY PLAN - furniture included (not a render) ? No more than 2 images on an A2 sheet 3. FURNITURE SCHEDULE ? Must include the following sections; ? System Furniture (SY) ? Storage (ST) ? Loose Furniture (LF) Your objectives are :  ? Space plan a small office fit out paying particular attention to egress, circulation and day lighting ? Include all relevant drafting conventions while adhering to all relevant codes and standards ? Present a professional, well considered and efficient space planning option ? Demonstrate an understanding of commercial construction systems and services ? Develop an understanding of visual communication in regards to planning proposals
