Assignment Task

Got the okay from St Brigid's president in Dubbo for Vikas to do a report on the situation in Dubbo at the moment and to present possible solutions (emergency accommodation, food van, any other thoughts!) the Society might offer to assist. I'll write it up as a formal document as soon as I can, but if Vikas would like to start by getting in touch with Umar and Manisha and getting their thoughts on the situation as St Brigid's conference members, that has been approved by their conference president. Rhonda is unavailable at the moment due to family commitments, but she will be the person who receives the report when complete. It's an academic report, so footnoting, bibliography, etc are expected.

Dubbo Situational Report, St Vincent de Paul

The object of this report is to do an analysis of the current situation in Dubbo with regards to the plight of those suffering homelessness or who are gravely affected by the current cost of living crisis. Analysis should include an overview of Dubbo's population, age profiles, income and housing statistics, disability and unemployment profiles and SEIFA statistics, a discussion with St Brigid's St Vincent de Paul conference members, a presentation of available statistics from the conference, a directory of current community assistance services including website details, addresses, contact details (including contact person, email, and phone), services offered, times available and current client load. It would be recommended to discuss with these client services their current experience with the crisis and what they would like to see developed in the Dubbo area.

The report should conduct a gap analysis of available local services and make recommendations on possible ways the Society can work to address these needs. Report to be presented to St Brigid's conference president Rhonda Gleeson for consideration.
