This assignment provides students with the opportunity to analyse what is needed in order to provide a balanced effective literacy program, in the early primary school setting with positive outcomes for young children. Students need to collect information from observations and/or discussions in a real setting with an educator in the field as well as from the key understandings from readings provided in the unit. This can be achieved whilst on professional placement or with an early childhood setting in early schooling - transition or grade 1, 2 or 3.
