The research assignment is to design a generating system based on one of the selected technologies (listed in the Table 1 below) in accordance with the specified details mentioned below. Table 1 outlines the list of technologies and total mark allocation. Each student can select one of the technologies from the Table 1 and develop a detailed proposal for designing a generating system based on the selected technology

The following items needs to be addressed while developing the detailed proposal:

• The generating system specifications
• The overall generating system control systems.
• Number of generating units, control systems, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and technical specifications.
• Operational data including export/import figures.
• Required transformers, reactive power compensation and/or any filters.
• Point of connection voltage level including generation/demand profiles.
• A simplified single line diagram of the proposed generating system.
• State government approval requirements 
• National Electricity Regulation (NER) requirement 
• Section of the NER covering the selected connection and requirements.
• Land requirements
• Land specifications, features and accessibility i.e., size, terrain, slope, average irradiance, etc.
