Create a minute reading lesson using a decodable reader following an explicit model of teaching.

A. Design a 2-hour English literacy block for a Year 1 Primary classroom which links theory and practice for effective teaching. Include curriculum, step by step elements for each of the lessons, assessment and differentiation. Teacher resources must include a picture book for shared reading and a non-fiction text as the basis for teaching writing. Use the proforma provided as the structure of the time.

B. Justify why your Literacy Block would be effective for all children including those children with diverse needs
