EDEC2008 : Rubric - Analysis of Your Own Mathematical Understanding

An analysis of your own mathematical understanding: Include an analysis of your own level of understanding of mathematical concepts from Years 1-3 within the ACARA curriculum. HINT: use your Early Years Mathematics Competency Test results and other specific personal experiences to justify your claims. Specifically discuss how your mathematical content knowledge may impact on your capacity to effectively use the following four elements: ? Questioning; ? Play; ? The on-going nature of assessment and planning for teaching; and ? Using hands-on resources and manipulative. In the discussion of the above four elements, address the following: 1. How the educator’s mathematical content knowledge is used or needed; 2. The impact of an educator not having the required mathematical content knowledge; 3. How you would specifically use your mathematical content knowledge - provide an example to demonstrate this.
