EDST2110 : Pedagogical Approach - Develop an Information Sheet for Parents - Science and Maths Assignment Help

In this assignment you will be asked to demonstrate your knowledge of one sub strand from the NSW Mathematics K-6 Syllabus by explaining how the concepts and processes are developed from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3. You will be required to draw upon relevant mathematics educational research and theory to support your claims. 

You are required to present this information in blog style piece of writing, as format that is suitable for a public audience. This style of writing is less formal but still professional. 

There are two parts the assignment. You must complete both 

Part A: 2500 words 35% 

1) Identify the Strand and substrand that you will be addressing

2) List in full, the four outcomes for each substrand. Include these as an appendix (not included in the word count.

3) Describe FOUR activities (one activity for each stage) that could be used to support student learning.

4) explain how the subsequent activity develops the concept from the previous one. (E.g. How does your activity for Stage 2 build conceptually on from Stage1)

5) Which working mathematically skill (process) is most closely aligned to each activity? Your task is to explain how you matched the Working Mathematically skill to the activity

6) Describe ONE pedagogical approach that could be used to support student learning in any ONE activity described in 3). Pedagogy means how students will be taught and supported to learn. Explain by referring to the literature, why you’ve selected that pedagogical approach. 

7) Give examples of evidence-based practice drawn from research, including theorists. 

Part B 

Develop an information sheet for parents that explains ONE effective strategy that they might use to support their child’s learning at home. This must be related to ONE activity that is already described in Part A. 

• Include a general explanation of why you selected the strategy. This must be reinforced by research and theory  

• Describe a situation or a scenario which shows how parents might be able to help their children understand the concept at home.  

• Source THREE effective online resources that parents could refer to. Include the URLs with an explanation as to why you chose them.
