Edward owns a large strawberry farm. He advertised his strawberries for sale in the local newspaper. Laura showed interest in the advertisement and on 10" October left a message on Edward's voicemail asking if he would supply 2,000 kilograms at E3.50 per kilo. On 12" October, Edward wrote a letter enclosing The Agreement for Sale' and stating, 'I am prepared to sell the strawberries to you at E4.00 per kilo, cash on delivery. Please let me have your written reply by 22n° October.' 
On 14' October, Laura sent Edward a fax: 'Please advise whether you would accept E3.80 per kilo, payable in two months' time.' Edward did not respond to the fax. Instead, on the same day he sent a letter to Laura, revoking his offer. The letter was lost in the post. 
On IP October, Laura learned from Twitter that Edward had recently closed a lucrative deal to supply his strawberries exclusively to the Davidson Fruit-mart at a very competitive price. Laura immediately sent a letter to Edward (which was correctly addressed and stamped) accepting his offer at E4.00 per kilo, cash on delivery.
