In assignment 1, you analysed specific transmission network. As part of the analysis you found out the voltage drop and PF distortion presented in the typical grid system. At the loaded end now the customer installed fluctuating load, presented by the manufacturing plant, with the dominant lagging power factor. Your company was assigned to provide a solution to improve power consumption parameters of the plant and reduce maintenance and repairmen cost for the sensitive equipment.

For the assignment you should:
a) Come up with the key grid stability parameters and evaluate key values for the system, analysed in Assignment 1; 10 Points
b) Come up with possible solutions to improve supplied power quality; 10 Points

c) Compare 3-4 possible options form their performance evaluation and operational state. Select the best solution and justify your selection. It is recommended to do final comparison in a form of a table 25 Points

d) For the chosen solution, you should prepare a detailed (1-2 pages) overview of the operation and how it will benefit the end-user and his plant. You should include description of the elements, their operation parameters and presented losses. If the system operated in automated mode, you should discuss, in addition to the hardware design, possible control system and algorithms. Include necessary sensors, which will be integrated in the grid. 35 Points
e) Provide possible improvements of the grid and provide specification from the catalogues of the manufacturers for the chosen system and its design. 20 Points
