Consider the microgrid shown in Fig. 1. The impedances of transmission lines are given in the one- line diagram in Ω (Fig. 1).

The system data are:
PV-generating station: 2 MW, 460 V AC; positive, negative, and zero sequence impedances = 10%.
Gas turbine generating station: positive sequence impedance = 10 MVA, 3.2 kV, 5% reactance
Sequence impedance: negative sequence = positive sequence, zero sequence = 1⁄2 positive sequence
Transformers’ sequence impedances: positive = negative = zero
Transformer T 1 : 10 MVA, 460 V/13.2 kV, 6% reactance
Transformer T 2 : 25 MVA, 13.2 kV/69 kV, 7% reactance
Transformer T 3 : 20 MVA, 13.2 kV/3.2 kV, 5% reactance
Loads: S 4 = 3.5 MW, p.f. = 0.95 lagging; S 5 = 7.5 MW, p.f. = 0.95 lagging; S 6 : 10 MVA, p.f. = 0.9 leading; S 7 = 5 MVA, p.f. = 0.85 lagging
Note: all the loads are three-phase Y connected.
Local power grid: positive, negative, and zero sequence internal reactance = 5 Ω ;
Perform the following:

Step 1: Calculations
1. Choose 10 MVA and 460 V as base values. Then convert all the impedance parameters into per unit values. (4 marks)
2. Neglect the phase shift associated with the Y/? transformers. Find the positive, negative and zero sequence networks in the following conditions: (10 marks)
i) Ignore the loads
ii) Consider the loads
3. Find the bus impedance matrices Zbus-0, Zbus-1 and Zbus-2 for the zero, positive and negative sequences. Use software, e.g. MATLAB, to compute the impedance matrices if needed. (8 marks)
4. Ignore the loads and compute a single line to ground fault at bus 4. (5 marks)
5. List the expected nominal voltages of the loads; use the load impedance models and compute the single line to ground fault at bus 4. (9 marks)
