State the aims of the experiment, as given above, and give a brief outline of how the experiment addresses the aims of the laboratory (Remember, a detailed apparatus and procedure is not required.) 

Experiment 2 - Determination of the effect of forced convection on the heat transfer from a cylinder at varying air velocities  

1. Turn on the fan.

2. Set the voltage controller to 200 V-

3. Adjust the throttle butterfly on the fan intake until the indicated air velocity (his approximately 1 m/s.

4. When T2 has reached a steady-state temperature record the following: U,. Ti, T2. V. I.

5. Increase the velocity in steps of approximately 2 m/s and repeat the readings until approximately

7 m/s is achieved (four readings in total).

6. Once readings have been completed, reduced the voltage controller to zero and allow the cylinder to cool, then switch of the fan and Finally the main switch.
